AVERE Welcomes Eric-Mark Huitema as Director-General for our new initiative focused on Vehicles
Mr Eric-Mark Huitema, former Director-General of ACEA has joined the AVERE team. “We warmly welcome Eric-Mark on board, and I am very happy that he is committed to the 100% electric future. Together we will increase the speed of the necessary transition – demanding nothing less than 100% sustainability in ecologic, social and economic terms” – The President of AVERE, Espen Hauge states.
E-mobility is growing exponentially, and AVERE, the European Association for Electromobility, is constantly spearheading this growth – since 1978. We focus on ensuring the market is supported by knowledge-based policies that benefit the value chains and consumers. We work with the industry to help them deliver clean transport and act as the voice for the united EV ecosystem.
Our vision is to reach 100% new zero-emissions vehicles by 2030, leading to a fully decarbonised European road transport by 2050 and making Europe a world leader in electromobility. Our commitment has attracted many actors in the world of transportation to rally behind us. As a result, we now count more than 50 direct members, representing more than 2.600 indirect members.
Secretary General Philippe Vangeel says: “As our growth continues, I am happy to have recruited an extremely strong contributor to our team, and see that his profile fits very well to the current needs of the association and our plans for the future.”
Mr Huitema’s strong belief in sustainable mobility motivated him to share his international experience as Director General and CEO with AVERE: “I am excited to move fast forward and aim to expand the broad coalition of electrification enthusiasts with more members and more action on the vehicle side in AVERE”
Eric-Mark Huitema will focus on all topics related to vehicles, strengthening that branch significantly, while the already strong infrastructure branch will continue as before.
