Formed in 2017, the Electrification Alliance is a group of trade associations representing a broad cross-section of European interests striving to support the EU’s efforts to meet its climate commitments under the Paris Agreement and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Their shared focus is to highlight the opportunities coming from the smart and efficient electrification of European energy use as a mean to achieving the EU’s climate commitments while improving its competitiveness, creating high quality jobs, and asserting global industrial leadership in the development and deployment of new technologies.
They agree that electrification is further driven by trends in the economy on fuel efficiency, digitalisation and automation, which in turn can make technology work for vulnerable sectors of society such as low-income households, local actors and SMEs. They also recognise it is a driver for cost-reductions and increasing shares of renewables.
The Electrification Alliance is composed by AVERE, eurelectric, the European Climate Foundation, the European Copper Institute, the European Heat Pump Association, SolarPower Europe, SmartEN and WindEurope.

The Platform for Electromobility envisions a future where people and goods are predominantly moved across land in Europe via a sustainable, multimodal transport system using electricity.
The Platform aims to realise its vision by driving the development, implementation and support for sustainable European Union policies, programmes and initiatives that promote the movement of people and goods through electromobility.

Launched in 2020, the Automotive Skills Alliance (ASA) is a partnership of European stakeholders working together to create an agenda for the reskilling and upskilling of automotive workers, develop knowledge, and foster dialogue between stakeholders and partners in the automotive industry.
The mission of the ASA is to establish a platform for all national and regional actors involved in the automotive sector to coordinate at the European level. Through this collaboration, stakeholders create a European framework for skills and job roles and share experiences and best practices. The ASA also functions as a one-stop-shop for financial instruments available at the European and national levels to financially support the skills agenda.
ASA has committed to retraining or upskilling 5% of its workforce each year, which means 700,000 employees will be retrained or upskilled. To accomplish this, ASA stakeholders are beginning to implement pilot projects.

DecarbEurope is an ecosystem of 20 sectors, connecting technologies, policies, and markets in a cross-sector roadmap towards a low-carbon economy. It was initiated in 2017 by the European Copper Institute (ECI) with the support of several industry associations and media partners, committing themselves to the common values that are driving energy transition: decarbonization, cost-effectiveness, circularity, sector-coupling, and consumer engagement.
The objective of DecarbEurope is to engage decision-makers in policy and industry with solutions that can, in a cost-effective manner, decarbonize Europe at the scale and speed that is needed to achieve Europe’s climate goals.

Within Batteries Europe, AVERE with all relevant stakeholders in the European batteries research and innovation ecosystem in order to develop and support a competitive battery value chain in Europe. Specifically, we are involved in the working groups related to raw materials and transport.
BATTERY 2030+ is the large-scale and long-term European research initiative addressing the challenges we face to invent the batteries of the future. AVERE plays a supporting role in providing the initiative with relevant input and advice from its diverse membership.
The Zero Emissions Urban Fleets (ZEUF) network, a coalition established by the World Economic Forum to expand and accelerate the electrification of urban fleets.
Cities and regions are instrumental in coordinating such efforts. Many European cities have repeatedly proved adept at pioneering EV mobility, as well as piloting new user-friendly technologies. Yet, adequate infrastructure and services, rely on effective and efficient coordination between public, private and third-party stakeholders.
This is where the Zero Emissions Urban Fleets network comes in. The coalition will bring together relevant stakeholders periodically to facilitate informal know-how exchange and efforts coordination for accelerating urban fleets electrification, targeting 100% by 2030.
